Lions Club Fantasy Hockey Pool Rules and Terms of Use

The Game
Lions Club Fantasy Hockey Pool ("Contest") is an on-line game designed to test one's own prognostication skills when it comes to predicting the performance of various hockey players on various teams. From all eligible entries received, winners will be determined based on their ability to use their skill and knowledge of hockey teams, players and related rules to accumulate the most Pool Points in accordance with the Scoring System as described below and these Official Rules. The Contest will coincide with the NHL 2024-2025 regular season.

Eligibility
The Contest is open only to people who have reached the age of 18. The Contest is void in jurisdictions where prohibited by law or where licensing is required. The Lions Charity Hockey Pool will be open to everyone with the exception of the following; the Chair Person(s) of this event, the Lions Club Treasurer, the Lions Club President, and the Administrator of this event for the Lions Club. If you are ineligible for the contest, you may play the game and have your place noted in the standings; however you will not be eligible to win a prize.

How to Enter
To enter Lions Club Fantasy Hockey Pool you must register by correctly completing and submitting the on-line Entry Form -- hereafter named "Entry Form" - at http://lionscharity.hockeydraft.ca/. Online entries are accepted at any time before Oct 18, 2024 at 11:59pm MT. All funds must be accounted for and cleared by this deadline. Upon registering you will enter a first and last name, email and password. Please make a note of this information. You will be required to enter your email address and password if you would like to make any changes prior to the entry deadline date. Entries submitted after the start of the NHL 2024-2025 regular season but before the deadline date will still receive points retroactive to the start of the 2024-2025 regular season.

How to Play
The objective of Lions Club Fantasy Hockey Pool is to accumulate the most number of Pool Points based upon the contest Scoring System (see Scoring System below) and in accordance with these Official Rules.

Each team you select will consist of 1 player from each of the boxes. *If a player is injured, he cannot be swapped out.

Scoring System

All Forwards: 1 Goal = 1 Pool Point. 1 Assist = 1 Pool Point. 1 Shootout Goal = 1 Pool Point.
All Defense: 1 Goal = 1 Pool Point. 1 Assist = 1 Pool Point. 1 Shootout Goal = 1 Pool Point.
All Goalies: 1 Win = 1 Pool Point. 1 Shutout = +2 Pool Points (3 total including a win). 1 Goal = 1 Pool Point. 1 Assist = 1 Pool Point. 1 Shootout Goal = 1 Pool Point.

Standings and Updates
Contest standings are updated daily on the web site. The web site will include player and entrant point totals. All statistics are updated daily, seven days a week.

IMPORTANT: standings are UNOFFICIAL for one week following the conclusion of the 2024-2025 regular season. In the event there is a discrepancy please notify HockeyDraft.ca within the one week Unofficial Standings Period, otherwise the standings will become final and official.

Winners and Prizes
The total prize pool will be a minimum of 20% of all entries sold. The entrant with the most Pool Points accumulated during the 2024-2025 regular season will win the grand prize. The following is the official breakdown of prizes:
  • 1st Place - 60% of the Total Prize Pool
  • 2nd Place - 30% of the Total Prize Pool
  • 3rd Place - 10% of the Total Prize Pool
  • Last Place - $25 (In the event of a tie the winner will be drawn in a random draw of all those in the tie.)
Ties
Lions Club Fantasy Hockey Pool is not a draft. Therefore, there is a possibility that two entrants may end up with the same player selections. In addition, two different rosters may add up to the same total points. In case of a tie the following rules will apply:

Between the pool teams that are tied, the pool team that has the least overtime goals will prevail.
If it is still tied, the pool team with the most goals will prevail.
In the event that the tied winners have chosen the same players, prizes will be divided between the tied entrants.

Terms and Conditions
Lions Club Fantasy Hockey Pool (the "Contest") is an on-line game, designed to test one's own prognostication skills when it comes to predicting the performance of various hockey players on various teams. From all eligible entries received, winners will be determined based on their ability to use their skill and knowledge of hockey teams, players and related rules to accumulate the most Pool Points in accordance with the Scoring System.

Multiple entries are permitted (with entry fee required for each). Both the first and last name of the entrant must be entered for the entry to be valid. In addition, government issued identification must be provided by the winner(s) and the name on the identification must match the name on the entry form. All entry forms become the property of HockeyDraft.ca and Lions Club. In any dispute, the decisions of Lions Club will be final and binding on all parties. Lions Club, HockeyDraft.ca, and the persons and companies affiliated with this contest, their employees, representatives or agents will not be responsible for human, computer or equipment error, or lost, late, or misdirected entry forms.

The potential prize winner will be posted on-line on the Monday following the final game of the 2024-2025 regular season. All potential prize winners are unofficial for a one week period after the final game. In the event there is a discrepancy please notify HockeyDraft.ca via the contact address listed on HockeyDraft.ca within the one week period, otherwise the standings and prize winners will be declared final and official. All taxes and any expenses not indicated herein are the sole responsibility of the winners. Entrants must notify Lions Club of any address change. Prizes are not transferable or redeemable in any other service and must be accepted as awarded.

Lions Club reserve the right to unilaterally disqualify entries. Lions Club reserve the right to modify contest rules at any time. HockeyDraft.ca and Lions Club reserve the right to cancel the contest at any time, without liability. Potential prize winners will be contacted within 30 days of the conclusion of Lions Club Fantasy Hockey Pool. The potential prize winner must return via regular mail or e-mail an affidavit of eligibility and a liability/publicity release within 15 days following attempted notification. The winner of a prize must consent to the use of his/her name and picture for promotional purposes related to this contest. The winner will release HockeyDraft.ca, Lions Club, and others involved, its advertisers, suppliers and other companies affiliated with this contest, from all liability for all damages or personal injuries in connection with the winner's use of the prize goods and services. By entering the contest you acknowledge agreement of the contest rules. Chances of winning are dependent upon the skill used in selecting your team and the total number of entries received. For the purpose of awarding the Prize it is the sole responsibility of the entrant to inform HockeyDraft.ca and Lions Club within a week of the end of the 2024-2025 regular season of any discrepancy with his/her player roster.

By entering this Contest, an entrant consents to the collection, use and disclosure of his/her personal information by Lions Club or HockeyDraft.ca for the purposes of alerting you of news, announcements and other related information.

This site is created and controlled by HockeyDraft.ca, in the Province of British Columbia, Canada. As such, the laws of the Province of British Columbia, and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, shall govern these disclaimers, terms and conditions, without giving effect to any principles of conflicts of law. HockeyDraft.ca reserves the right to make changes to its site and these disclaimers, terms and conditions at any time.

Lions Club assumes all responsibility for this contest including but not limited to the regulations put forth by the Alberta gaming and lottery corp.

Other Rules

If any of the following rules conflict with the above rules, the rules below will prevail.
  1. The Lions Charity Hockey Pool will conform to the rules and regulations of the Alberta Gaming and Lotteries rules and guidelines. No advertising or promotions will be done outside of the province of Alberta.
  2. Rule for those who fail to comply with the draft rules will be removed by the draft administrator without any refund.
  3. No limit to number of entries per household, each to be separately entered and paid for.
  4. Maximum number of entries for the Lions Charity Hockey Pool will be 200 paid Entries, on a first come first serve basis.
  5. Minimum Entries for the Lions Charity Hockey Pool will be 50, if this minimum is not achieved 100% of entries will be 100% refunded and the Lions Charity Hockey Pool will be Cancelled.
  6. All Entries that can not register online at http://lionscharity.hockeydraft.ca/ can do so by completing an entry form and faxing it to 780-458-7784 and/or mailing it to Box 125, St. Albert, Alberta T8N 1N2. All manual entries will not be valid or processed until payment has cleared the St. Albert Breakfast Lions Club’s bank account, any cheques returned for non-sufficient funds will eliminate those entries from the Hockey Pool by the Hockey Pool Administrator.
  7. Entries that pay by cash can fax entry form to 780-458-7784 and cash can be sent by mail to Box 125, St. Albert, Alberta T8N 1N2.
  8. Contestants/Entries can make inquiries through email at: lionscharityhockeypool@gmail.com
  9. Winners of prizes will be notified by email, if winners can not be located within 30 days after the prizes have been closed off, proceeds of the prize will be randomly drawing from the remaining contestants/entries.
  10. No refunds will be given to contestants/entries that withdraw, cancel or are terminated from the Lions Charity Hockey Pool. All payments are final and non-refundable.

The parties have required that this agreement and all documents related hereto be prepared in English. Les parties ont demandé que cette convention ainsi que tous les documents qui s'y rattachent soient rédigés en anglais.
