Tyler Arnason
Tyler was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft and played three seasons there. His best season was in Chicaco in the 2003-2004 season when he amassed 55 points (22 goals and 33 assists).
On March 9, 2006, Arnason was traded to the Ottawa Senators in exchange for Brandon Bochenski and a second-round pick. In the 19 games he played for Ottawa in the regular season, he registered four assists and failed to score a goal. Tyler was a healthy scratch in the playoffs. The Senators chose not to give him a qualifying offer, so he became an unrestricted free agent.
Colorado signed him and Arnason spent 2006-2007 on the Avalanche. He scored 49 points in 82 games, including 16 goals and 33 assists.
Arnason is one of those players that has missed the bus on almost all of his potential, as teams keep banking on him for production but he doesn't come through. His tenure with the Senators was a disaster, as Arnason was expected to play on the second line and make a difference on the team. Instead he ended up watching from the press box. Arnason is talented but appears to lack motivation, making him a pet project for any team that takes him on. Expect more mediocre production from Arnason in Colorado.
