Kyle Brodziak was born in St. Paul, Alberta, and spent his entire junior career with the Moose Jaw Warriors of the WHL. He had two relatively average years to start off with, only scoring 10 goals in 129 games. Brodziak opted in to the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, but he went unselected. In 2002-2003, he suddenly caught fire and more than tripled his offensive production of the past two years. Brodziak scored 62 points in that season and attended the selection camp for Canada's 2003 Junior Team. He was the last forward cut from the roster. Brodziak was drafted in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, going 214th overall as a selection by the Edmonton Oilers. He attended training camp, but was sent back to Moose Jaw and had his best season to date, scoring 93 points in 70 games. Brodziak represented the WHL against the Russian Selects and finished the year third in the WHL in scoring. He was also named to the CHL Second All-Star team and the WHL East First All-Star team. Brodziak debuted with the Edmonton Road Runners in the AHL in 2004-2005. He was moved to the Iowa Stars in the AHL after the Road Runners ceased operation. Brodziak debuted for the Oilers in October of 2005, but was sent back down to the minors. He was then assigned to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in the AHL and was called up to the Oilers for six games in 2006-2007. Brodziak has since likely earned a full-time roster spot on the Oilers after starting 2007-2008 with solid play. He is a solid two-way player that can play either centre or wing. Brodziak lacks some top-end skating skill, which may limit his ability to play on a scoring line. He's likely a career third line player.
