Patrick Sharp
Patrick Sharp was born in Thunder Bay, Ontario, and played for the Thunder Bay Flyers of the USHL and the University of Vermont before being drafted 95th overall in the third round of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. He split the 2003-2004 season between the Flyers and their AHL affiliate Philadelphia Phantoms, recording 7 points (5 goals, 3 assists) in 41 regular season games with the Flyers and 29 points (15 goals, 14 assists) in 35 games for the Phantoms. Sharp spent all of the next season with the Phantoms and registered 23 goals and 29 assists (52 points) in 75 games en route to their Calder Cup victory that year. Sharp was back up with the Flyers briefly before being traded to the Chicago Blackhawks in December of 2005. He has played in Chicago ever since, putting up modest numbers. 2006-2007 saw his production head in a positive direction, as Sharp notched 35 points in 80 games, including 20 goals and 15 helpers. Sharp also tied for the team lead in power play goals with five markers with the extra man. He should be buoyed by more ice time in Chicago and could take the Windy City by storm. Sharp is a natural center and an all-around player that is Jack of many trades but master of none. He'll be a consistent pick for around 30-40 points for his career.
