Patrick Eaves
Patrick Eaves was born in Calgary, Alberta, and is an American NHL player sometimes billed as being from Minnesota. He played his collegiate hockey at Boston College. Eaves had also played on the United States Junior National Team for nine games in 2001-2002 and headed to Boston College after that. His best season with Boston College came in 2004-2005 when he scored 48 points in 36 games, including 19 goals and 29 assists. Eaves was drafted 29th overall by the Ottawa Senators in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. He started with the Senators by playing for the Binghamton Senators of the AHL, playing 18 games and notching 13 points. Eaves was called up to the Senators for 58 regular season games that year and scored 29 points, including 20 goals and 9 assists. He also played in 10 playoff games and registered one goal. Eaves followed up a notable debut season with a relatively good 2006-2007, scoring 32 points in 73 regular season games and making yet another playoff appearance by playing in 7 games and finishing with 2 assists in the post-season. Eaves played in the NHL Young Stars game in 2006-2007 and has an exciting future ahead of him. He is a very savvy player and knows the game well, making him a valuable producer on any NHL team. Eaves is mainly a two-way player with an instinct towards the defensive aspect of the game. He is not a showy player and knows how to play his role without complaining, making him a coach’s dream.
