Mike Ribeiro
Mike Ribeiro was drafted 45th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2nd round of the 1998 NHL Entry Draft. His best season on Montreal came in 2003-2004 in which he scored 65 points in 81 games. That season would also mark the only time in Ribeiro's career in which he scored 20 goals. He averages about 12 goals a season.
On September 30, 2006, the Canadiens traded Ribeiro and a 6th round draft pick in 2008 to the Dallas Stars, in exchange for Janne Niinimaa and a 5th round draft pick in 2007. During the 2006-07 season he led the Dallas Stars for the points with 59 points, his second highest NHL total ever.
Ribeiro is the type of player that everyone expected to flourish under the new NHL system, but he hasn't really made much of an impact. While he did lead the Stars in points in 2006-2007, the Stars weren't really that noted for offensive contributions. Ribeiro is a speedy player that isn't defensively responsible, but he is capable of putting the puck in the net when he wants to. A sure bet for around 50 points, most of them coming as assists. He'll be lucky to score 20 goals.
