Brian Campbell
Brian Campbell was taken by the Ottawa 67's in the OHL as a third round draft pick in the 1995 OHL Priority Selection. In 1998-1999, he won the Red Tilson Trophy as the OHL's Most Outstanding Player. Campbell also won the Max Kaminsky Trophy as the OHL's Defenceman of the Year and the William Hanley Trophy as the OHL's Most Gentlemanly Player. Topping it off, he was also named the CHL Player of the Year.
Campbell was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres as their 6th round pick in the 1997 NHL entry draft, #156 overall. He played his first game for the Sabres in the 1999-2000 season and remains with the team. Campbell's best season was his last, in 2006-2007. He finished the year with 48 points in 82 games, including 6 goals and 42 assists.
Campbell is not really a physical player, but don't tell that to Philly's RJ Umberger. One of the most memorable moments in Campbell's career came when he laid out Umberger in a playoff game. Campbell is also a relatively well-rounded offensive defenseman that plays a very organized style of hockey.
