Brent Seabrook
Brent Seabrook was born in Richmond, British Columbia, and began his career with the Lethbridge Hurricanes in the WHL in 2000-2001. He spent a total of four years with the team. Seabrook was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in 2003, going 14th overall in the NHL Entry Draft. As he continued to play for Lethbridge, he also played in the World Junior Championships for Team Canada, winning the silver medal in 2004 and winning the gold medal with the team in 2005. Seabrook debuted in Chicago in the 2005-2006 NHL season, finishing with 32 points in 69 games. He played for Canada again in the 2006 World Championships, but didn't register a point. Seabrook played the whole season in 2006-2007 for Chicago, finishing with 24 points in 81 games. He also played in the YoungStars Game during All-Star Weekend. Seabrook is a top two defenseman. He is a solid skater with good size. Seabrook has plenty of offensive upside and will likely be a top-notch power play quarterback in the near future. He can use some help in using his size more effectively, however, and struggles with some durability issues. Overall, Brent Seabrook could be one of the best defenders in the league if his game develops.
