Anze Kopitar

Anze Kopitar was the 11th overall draft pick by the Los Angeles Kings in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. He is the first Slovenian-born player in the NHL. According to the NHL's European Scouting Service, Kopitar was the number one European draft prospect in 2005. Kopitar is a large player with soft hands and all the tools to be dominant for a very long time in most offensive categories. He is good at sharing the puck, but can lumber around a bit because of his size. Kopitar is 6 foot 4 and weights about 220 pounds. Kopitar is an impact player in both five-on-five situations and on the powerplay, having the ability to pass the puck with crispness and speed and also the ability to shoot it when he has the chance. He cracked the Kings line-up immediately and has been making an impact ever since. His debut season, 2006-2007, saw him reach 61 points in just 72 games. Kopitar will continue to produce and continue to make the Los Angeles Kings a legit threat in terms of offensive production. When paired with a speedy winger, he is even more dangerous.
