Derek Armstrong
Derek Armstrong was drafted 128th overall in the 1992 NHL entry draft by the New York Islanders. He is seen as a safe pick because he is not a defensive liability, but he will not rack up many points either. Armstrong has sat at the bottom of the roster on all of the NHL teams he has played on, but he does appear to be gaining some steam with his point totals.
Armstrong has played on several NHL teams before he landed on the Los Angeles Kings. His best year has been 2006-2007 as he collected 44 points in 67 regular season games, including 11 goals and 33 assists.
Armstrong will continue to be the solid foundation for any hockey team, but he will likely not put up numbers worth noticing. He is great in the room and is a versatile player, allowing coaches to plug him into any situation and get a solid contribution.
