Antoine Vermette

At the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, Antoine Vermette was selected 55th Overall to the Ottawa Senators. He was awarded the Mike Bossy Trophy (Top Draft Prospect) for his incredible play during the 2000-2001 season in QMJHL hockey and entered the NHL with a great deal of hype. Vermette played his 2002-2003 season with Ottawa Senators AHL affiliate the Binghamton Senators. In 80 games, he scored 34 goals and 28 assists and won a place on the AHL All-Rookie Team. 2003-2004 was Vermette's debut NHL season for the Senators. He played 57 games with the Sens and scored 14 points (7 goals and 7 assists). Vermette has continued to produce at the NHL level. Vermette has great offensive instincts, as evidenced with his excellent creativity. His "behind the net - between the legs" goal of December 2006 will go down in history as one of the most creative goals in the NHL and he continues to impress with his moves. Vermette will be a top six forward that will play any role on any hockey team.
